Bradley Tyler Johnson was born in Maryland and graduated from both Princton and Harvard. He was a lawyer, soldier, and writer. He served as a Brig. General in the Confederate States Army. In the last days of the war he commanded cavalry under Wade Hampton. Johnson was trusted with a special mission by Hampton in the summer of 1864, (See Below). Both were past leaders of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. Hampton’s grandfather was a Colonel in the Revolution and a general in the War of 1812. Johnson, was the grandson of a Revolutionary officer. ~ (Note Hampton's dog) ~ |
